EDM Machining Services Supplier Specializes in Precision Component Manufacturing
Accu-Prompt highlights the equipment it has available in its Minneapolis shop to support the EDM needs of moldmakers and molders.
Accu-Prompt Inc. has been in business for 32 years supplying fast, reliable and cost-effective EDM services to mold shops and molding facilities. Specializing in precision component manufacturing and EDM machining, the Minneapolis-based company supports customers through wire, conventional and micro EDMs, as well as its spinning and indexing capabilities.
To manage small- or large-volume EDM parts, Accu-Prompt uses a variety of equipment:
- Five Sarix micro EDMs are used to manufacture or revise mold components. It is CNC controlled, and is capable of a 0.0020"-diameter hole. It works well adding very small ejector or core pin holes and has EDM milling capabilities.
- The Sodick K3HS is one of two CNC EDM drills (hole popping) Accu-Prompt uses for adding wire start holes to cavity blocks, core blocks and ejector sleeves. It has capabilities from 0.012-0.125"-diameter holes with Z-axis travel of 12".
- A Makino Edge2 is one of two conventional EDMs used for sinking cavity blocks, core blocks, mold inserts and performing mold repairs.
- An Mitsubishi FA-20 with submerged indexing is one of eight wire EDMs employed to wire cut mold components and components that require submerged CNC indexing.
- Wire spinning capabilities are achieved through a Hirschmann spinner, rounding out core pins that require small, intricate detail. The machine can perform down to 0.0020"-diameter wire for a 0.0015" internal corner radius if needed.
The company’s 13,000-square-foot machine facility is also prepped for manufacturing electrodes and replacement mold components.
